Where are MXG’s LED light fixtures manufactured?

MXG’s LED lights, light poles and brackets are proudly engineered and manufactured in the China from both domestic and foreign materials and component suppliers. We use only the highest quality LED chips available from manufacturers like Cree, Osram, Nichia, and Philips, with MeanWell driver.

    How competitive is MXG’s pricing?

While it’s not our goal to be the low cost leader, our pricing is very competitive. This is especially the case when you consider the quality and quantity of LED chips used in our lighting fixtures. Please review the sections below for additional details.

What sets MXG’s products apart from the competition?

The main quality consideration for high-output commercial/industrial LED lighting products is the quality and quantity of LED chips used inside the fixtures.

LED chips are the most important part of an LED fixture, so the natural reaction for many companies is to limit the number of LEDs used and drive up the current for each chip. While this philosophy will lower costs for the manufacturer, it reduces the lifespan of the LEDs and lowers the efficiency. The fixtures will end up producing fewer lumens per unit watt.

For instance, to achieve 100w in LED, we typically use 112 individual LED chips at a 525 mA drive current. This produces a great 200-400w (320w ideal) HID replacement. It’s not uncommon for our fixtures to contain 30-50% more LED chips than our competitors to achieve a similar HID replacement. Similarly, while we keep the drive current low at 525 mA, many companies will run LED fixtures between 750-1000 mA to lower costs.

What LED chips are used inside MXG’s fixtures?

Given that we work on high-output applications, the quality of LED chips is paramount. The bottom line is we use only the highest quality LED chips available from manufacturers like Cree, Osram, Nichia, and Philips. All of the LEDs from these companies have extensive LM80 data and testing that is verified independently.

What are your typical lead times?

Our support team does its best to accommodate project requirements for all customers. We have some offerings that are in-stock and ready to ship within 48 hours; other products have production lead times of 7-15 days, depending on the specific application, requirements, and geographic location.

What finish options are available for your lighting products?

We are happy to say that we offer a number of different finish color options for our LED fixtures. Our standard finish is UV-resistant, multi-layer, architectural dark bronze, powdercoat. Additional colors—such as black, white, silver, green and gray—are common and can be supplied for a small custom color charge.

If you have any special finishing requirements for your application, our Project Support Team is happy to discuss the specs with you.

What is MXG’s standard lighting distribution pattern? Does MXG offer optics for different distribution types?

The standard lighting distribution for our LED light fixtures is Type V (Round) which is designed to evenly distribute light in all downward directions over a wide area. This is ideal for fixtures mounting at or near center of large commercial parking lots, roadways and center islands, as well as any general area lighting application where wide-angle light distribution is required. Type I, II, III and IV patterns are available upon request.

What are the delivered lumens? How are delivered lumens different that nominal lumens?

Delivered lumens indicate the total light output from the fixture, whereas nominal lumens is a measure of the total light output of the light engine inside the fixture housing. The delivered lumens of light engines vary greatly and are based on the size and geometry of the ultimate fixture. The typical delivered lumens count for our fixtures is 85% of the light engine nominal lumens.

What is your standard product warranty?

MXG’s LED products feature a 5-year limited warranty for high lumen output LEDs and fixtures, and an optional 10 year limited warranty for our high output LEDs. Specific warranties are found on each product page.

What are the standard color temps (K) for your LED light fixtures?

Standard models are available in 6000K, 5700K ,4300K and 3000K correlated color temperature (CCT) to maximize brightness and color flexibility. Other options are available upon request.
